Decorate Saxon the Suffrage Cat! Artists of all ages-Submission Deadline July 29th

Cheryl Kirking’s work appears frequently in the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series and her column, Slice of Life, appears in this publication. She is the author of five books, including Ripples of Joy, published internationally by Random House. Kirking and her husband, David have three grown children and a fluffy rescue dog.

Sponsored by the Women’s History and Culture Center, there has been great interest in this year’s Saxon the Suffrage Cat Decorating Contest, which is the third annual, according to Jean Watkins of the Center. It is a wonderful summertime activity for children and youth —and all ages! See poster below for details.

Every Wednesday from 11 AM to 2 PM Jean Watkins will be at the Women’s History and Culture Center at 225 N Willow #23 in Mesquite to register people (kids and adults) and hand out the Saxon cut outs. Look for more information about this fun and educational contest in the Virgin River Times as judging begins! Awards Ceremony will be Monday , August 8, 2022 at the Mesquite Fine Arts Center.
