In conjunction with the City of Mesquite Department of Athletics and Leisure Services, RAISE Mesquite is planning a Wheely Good Time Parade for our community. It takes place on July 4th at 8:00 am on the Mesquite Recreation Department west field. Participants will need to sign in and get registered so don’t be late. If you have children under 18 that are planning on participating, you will need to download and fill out an entry form. They are available through a link on the RAISE Mesquite Facebook page.
Participants are encouraged to decorate their bikes, wagons, strollers, scooters or even themselves and strut their stuff. Please be aware t
hat no electric bikes, scooters, or hoverboards are allowed on the parade route or as entries. There is a special prize available for early registration and other prizes for the most patriotic entries. Prizes are being donated by All in Cycles, Arvada Springs, Jackson Contracting, Adonai Landscaping, H&H Framing, Mr. Taco, Angel Whispers Spa, and RAISE Mesquite.
In addition to the upcoming activity, the RAISE Mesquite board members also made an appearance at the city council meeting on Tuesday. They presented Jason Andrus with a donation for the Little League Program in Mesquite. When asked about upcoming events, RAISE president, Carly Toutant, told us they have lots of great activities they are planning and to look forward to the upcoming Halloween Parade and a Christmas Service opportunity for our community.
If you are interested in joining RAISE Mesquite as a volunteer, please reach out through social media on their Facebook page or email them at raisemesquitenv@gmail.com. They are always looking for more people to help make our community a terrific place to live.
