Mesquite, NV, June 10th @ 4:08 pm PACIFIC-

Northbound Interstate 15 is stuck and not moving due to the high traffic flow of people headed north at the moment. The main cause is the Virgin River Bridge Project which is at the exit for Beaver Dam/Littlefield just north of Mesquite.

They have backed up traffic within a couple of miles from Mesquite’s Exit 122. There are also so many vehicles trying to cut through Mesquite on Hillside/Old Hwy 91 and back on to I-15 with the onramp for Beaver Dam exit it has caused a big back up on that road as several are trying to go the back way through Ivins into St. George.

Reports are coming in that people are waiting in excess of an hour in the traffic.

Southbound is currently clear with no problems and the accident that caused a backup in the Virgin River Gorge on the Southbound lanes at approximately 11:00 am earlier today has been cleared up and flowing well.

Weather predictions are in the 110s as an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for the weekend. Make plans to have plenty of water and gasoline for the extra time. Also, check your tires.

The best times to travel with less traffic are early in the morning before 8:00 am Pacific and in the evenings after 10:00 pm Pacific.
