Mesquite, NV, May 27th, 3:45 pm PST-

After starting off the Memorial Day Weekend with one accident at mm 107 at about 10:00 am PST, the accidents continue as the Mesquite Police Department and Nevada Highway Patrol dealt with another accident in between the Mesquite exits of 120 and 122.

Mesquite, NV Police reported a semi-truck ended up on the wrong side of the Freeway. Claims have been that it crossed the median from the Northbound lanes into the Southbound lanes where the semi ran into the rail guard and ended up facing in the wrong direction just below the Grapevine Rd Overpass on the shoulder of the Southbound lanes. However, others said it got onto the onramp going the wrong way. Currently, the correct information about the incident is being confirmed and will be released later.

This accident occurred at approximately 12:45 pm. The accident had temporary closure of both lanes but is now open to traffic with Patrol units directing traffic. This is breaking news so more information will be released when it is obtained from proper authorities.

The Northbound is currently doing good with some slowdowns at work zones. Expect traffic to be bad from 10 am until 10 pm. The worst times are approximately around noon to 5 pm. At those times, expect about an hour delay.

Other than the accident, there are only small slowdowns in work zones for Southbound and at the Virgin River Bridge Project at Beaver Dam/Littlefield on both sides.

Things may change this weekend as it is Memorial Weekend. At moment, no major delays other than the accidents causing congestion and backup.

Weather predictions are a blazing 100s d or Friday but will cool down starting Saturday in higher 90s and then down in the 80s by Sunday, Make plans to have plenty of water and gasoline for the extra time. Also, check your tires.

The best times to travel with less traffic are early in the morning before 8:00 am PST and in the evenings after 10:00 pm PST.
