Mesquite, NV, May 19, 5:30 am PST-

The EDC Festival goers (Electric Daisy Carnival) are expected to bring around 400,000 people to Las Vegas this weekend. This no doubt will be a ‘mosh pit’ of trouble for traffic on Interstate 15 travel by Mesquite.

Both northbound and southbound lanes are down to one lanes (and at times shoulders) on top of Mormon Mesa south of Mesquite.

The paving for NDOT and downsizing to one lane is more prevalent on top of the mesa. This has caused major traffic congestion and backup for literally… miles.

The Virgin River Bridge Project by Beaver Dam is still a slowdown but still moving on both sides of the freeway, NB will be more congested with the merging of the onramp from Beaver Dam.

The Bridge north of Mesquite will have backups this weekend with EDC going on. Expect at least 3 extra hours for travel this weekend.

Weather predictions are going to be hitting the 100s today and triple digits during the upcoming weekend, so make plans to have plenty of water and gasoline for the extra time, expected to be between 2-3+ hours this weekend, starting on Thursday, today.

The best times to travel with less traffic are early in the morning before 8:00 am PST and in the evenings after 10:00 pm PST.

Please be careful, respectful, and considerate of others when merging. Drive the posted speed limits and travel safely!
