The Professional Long Drivers Association is holding the Diamond in the Desert Long Drive Competition today and continues through Sunday. The event is being held at the Mesquite Sports and Events Complex located at 1635 World Champion Way in Mesquite.
The schedule for the event is as follows:

10 AM Regional Qualifier
1 winner for every 10 hitters will earn a fully paid entry into the PLDA World Championships
in October. The regional format is double-elimination.

The round-robin style tournament gives each golfer 2-1/2 minutes to hit 6 balls as far as they can to qualify into the championship round of just two golfers left. The current World Champion is Kyle Berkshire, one of the favorites. The Ladies Division starts on Sunday.
