It is Mother’s Day and a special concert is scheduled for the library today at 3:00 pm PST. The stage band Off the Rails will be performing for the weekly series of free concerts at the Library Pavilion offered by the LVCCLD and the Rotary Clubs of Mesquite.
Off the Rails is a 5-piece rhythm and blues band out of Southern Utah. The band is known for doing covers as well as originals, having built up a well-known reputation through Southern Utah, Southern Nevada, and Northwestern Arizona. They are well-represented with plenty of experience and performances for several local festivals and concerts.
Their influences, according to their social media, include Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Junior Wells, Paul Butterfield, Junior Wells, and Eric Clapton, plus more modern blues-rock artists like Joe Bonamassa, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Free.
The rest of the Spring Series of Free Concerts at the Library are the following line-up.
May 15th: The Glory Girls – vocal trio
Desert Heat – stage band
Also: Meet your local Rotarians- finger food and cold refreshments
May 22nd: The Mesquite Cafe Blues Band (local favorite band)
May 29th: Dueling Pianos featuring Rita Hermie and Doris Points.
The concerts again start at 3:00 pm PST and ARE FREE!
So bring your lawn chairs, and blankets to lay on, water, and enjoy the music and relax. Come support the local music acts and performers.
