On May 3, 2022, the 8 News Now I-Team discovered a 2nd barrel while doing a follow-up story about the first barrel being discovered with human remains inside. The police were notified immediately.

The 2nd barrel was several hundred feet away from where the first one was discovered and was also along the shoreline. Holes in the barrel showed nothing inside.

Lieutenant Ray Spencer of the Homicide Unit for the LVMPD confirmed the barrel was empty.

The investigation continues and still no release on the identification of the human remains discovered on Sunday. The only released information is the individual is an adult male who was most likely murdered in the late 1970s to early 1980s. The time length was identified by the shoes the individual was wearing.

Police have reported receiving many tips concerning the case and the identification of the man murdered.

This is an open investigation and as such, more information will be released as it is received.
