Mesquite, NV-
The Nonprofit Organization, R.A.I.S.E. Mesquite (Raising Awareness, Involvement, Support, and Engagement) is in need of volunteers to help out with running the food sales booths for Virgin Valley Little League.
“We are excited to have been asked to run a snack stand for all 3 ball fields on those days,” wrote Carly Toutant on social media.
The days needed to help run the snack stand are April 29th, 30th, and May 1st. Then the following weekend on May 6th, 7th, and 8th. The games will be at Old Mill, Hunter, and Pioneer Parks. The game schedules are the following:
April 29th: noon to 10 pm
April 30th: 8 am to 8 pm
May 1st: 8 am to 6 pm
May 6th: noon to 10 pm
May 7th: 8 am to 8 pm
May 8th: 8 am to 6 pm
The Mesquite Legends Baseball Team will be helping at Hunter Park, as well as a couple of other local community organizations, but still, they need lots of volunteers to help out. The Legends also are planning on honoring Herb Calhoun, local Mesquite athletics and community recreations “hero” who started most of the local softball and baseball leagues and competitions here within the Mesquite community. Calhoun died last November after serving the community of Mesquite through the Mesquite Senior Games, Virgin Valley Little League, and other athletic organizations.
R.A.I.S.E. Mesquite will be purchasing all of their supplies and donating 20% of all sales back to the Mesquite Legends, so they may have the finances to honor Herb Calhoun.
If you would like to help volunteer and help out with the snack stands, email raisemesquitenv@gmail.com and write what days and times you would like to volunteer and help, as well as a contact number so the organizers of the fundraiser may confirm with you.
