The construction site south of Mesquite and north of Mesquite at the Littlefield Beaver Dam bridge or causing some slowdowns both Southbound and Northbound on Interstate 15, with Northbound being majorly affected.
It is way worse for Northbound as the construction has caused major back-ups for miles. The backups are reported to be all the way up Mormon Mesa and as far as mm 100 Exit for Carp Elgin.
The Northbound lanes have been reduced to one lane in several places along Mormon Mesa and down just south of Mesquite. This includes full closures of Truck pull-offs on top of Mormon Mesa. Expect at least 2 hours delay and wait.
Southbound is doing better with congestion at the construction sites but the reopening of both lanes just beyond the smaller construction sites allows less congestion. Expect 20-30 minutes to wait and even less time.
One of the VRT reporters went through with only 8 minutes slower pace than usual at the Littlefield/Beaver Dam Bridge Project.
Expect the traffic to be like this all weekend, with some better travel before 9:00 am and after 11:00 pm PST.
Remember, the major problem of traffic stoppage and congestion is the lack of drivers utilizing the zipper method of merging. Usually, people are being selfish and not considerate of others. Please be careful, respectful, and considerate of others when merging and traveling. Drive the posted speed limits and travel safely!
