The City of Mesquite Parks and Recreation Department released an announcement that they will be holding a Lifeguard Certification course. The course is limited to 12 enrollees. The cost is $200.00 and entails in-person classes and workshops on Saturday, April 9th with Sunday off, but then held on Monday, April 10th, and Tuesday, April 11th.

The course is an accelerated course and part of it is done online. The online part must be completed by April 9th. The in-person classes and workshops will be live water training and will consist of actual water rescue drills. The water training classes start at 8:00 am and end at 5:00 pm. Attendance is mandatory.

Registration must be done online at the Parks and Recreation website, www.mesquitenv.gov/departments/athletics-and-leisure, or you can go to the Parks and Recreation Center located at 100 W Old Mill Road in Mesquite.
