Mesquite Toes Ready to Spring into Performance

The local dance group, Mesquite Toes, is springing into action for their Spring Spectacular. The annual performance will be Friday, April 8th, and Saturday, April 9th. The performance on Friday will be at 7:00 pm and then Saturday at 1:00 pm. The location will be at the Mesquite Community Theatre, 150 N Yucca St.
“We are beyond excited to be performing again for our Spring Spectacular,” stated a small group of energetic and lively Mesquite Toes who visited the Virgin River Times office. “We had a 1-year break due to Covid-19 in 2020, but held the performance last year.”
The Mesquite Toes is a local non-profit dance group with middle-aged to senior-aged musical and dance artists who have been performing for years in Mesquite, NV. The non-profit group “officially” was organized with a website and the whole business organization in 2017, but actually was already performing and getting together to dance and have fun as an exercise group since 2003.
The group is open to anyone in that age category who would love to dance. They focus on primarily tap dancing and clogging but have added elements and other dance styles in recent years. No experience is needed as you learn from their amazing and professional instructors.
The Mesquite Toes also held their usual annual fundraiser, yard sale, on February 26, 2022.
“It was a huge success and we really wanted to thank everyone who donated and purchased items for the yard sale,” said Kathy Lyne Jones, representative of the Mesquite Toes. “We had not done the yard sale for 4 years due to Covid for 2 and other reasons for 2. We had a great result from the sale this year and we have to thank everyone for their support!”
Jones explained they had started with original plans to be done by 1:00 pm but the sale went on until almost 3:00 pm due to the continued support.
“We really could not be doing what we love without Mesquite and the support we get from everyone here,” reemphasized Jones.
The Spring Spectacular will again be on April 8-9th with tickets being $15 each. Tickets can be bought at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery during their business hours, the Mesquite Community Theatre Box Office on Thursdays from 4-6 pm at the theatre, and online at mctnv.com. They also can be bought one hour before the shows on Friday the 8th at 7:00 pm and Saturday the 9th at 1:00 pm during April.
“We are ready to be tapping our toes again,” said Kathy Jones.
