Declaration of Candidacy for City of Mesquite

Nick "YoshiYama" Yamashita has a Master's in Interdisciplinary Studies from Southern Utah University, teaches Martial Arts as a 3rd Degree American Kenpo Black Belt, a Professional Photographer & Artist, with publications involving the genres of Poetry, Short Stories, Thesis and Papers on Criminology/Criminal Justice/Ethical Issues and more. He has worked in Juvenile Criminal Justice and Criminal Justice fields with experience as well as Forensic Science experience. Nick resides in Mesquite, Nevada.

The City of Mesquite through City Clerk Tracy Beck has released an announcement for Candidacy of City of Mesquite positions which will be available for election this year.

“We have three city council positions available for election polls this year,” said Beck. “We want to make sure we get a good turnout for voting as this concerns our wonderful city and the leadership of it.”

The three seats for the City Council available this year are:

Seat #1 – Sandra Ramaker (Incumbent)

City Council Seat #1 Incumbent -Sandra Ramaker

Seat #3 – George Gault (Incumbent)

City Council Seat #3 Incumbent – George Gault

Seat #4 – Karen Dutwoski (Incumbent)

City Council Seat #4 Incumbent – Karen Dutkowski

Mesquite’s Declaration of Candidacy will start Monday, March 7, 2022, through and including March 18, 2022. All Declaration of Candidacy must be filed through the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, located at 10 E Mesquite Blvd in Mesquite, NV. All prospective candidates must come during business operation hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Fridays 7:30 am – 11:30 am.

All prospective candidates must be a resident of Mesquite for one year; have valid ID and there will be a $25.00 filing fee.
