UPDATED @ 9:37 PM, FEBRUARY 16, 2022:

The Moapa Valley Fire Department reported about 4:30 pm that the fire was under control but still being worked on by Moapa Valley Fire Department, along with 4 other fire departments called in to assist with the blaze. The four other agencies were Clark County Fire Department, North Las Vegas Fire Department, Nevada Department of Forestry, and Bureau of Land Management. One residence and two commercial businesses were threatened, but no losses of any of them. No injuries were also reported. Fire personnel will remain at work through the night to make sure the fire does not reignite. The source of the fire was a controlled burn that got out of control due to the high winds recorded at 27 mph.

If any Mesquite residents are traveling to Moapa Valley today, you may want to avoid Moapa Valley Blvd by Logandale Park. The road has been shut down due to a brush fire that has broken out along the Muddy River.

The fire was reported about 10:30 am and has grown sufficiently quickly. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Northeast Resident Section Facebook Page posted an update of the incident happening and told residents to avoid the area.

The Fire is in between the Logandale Park and Green Valley Grocery, the fire has gotten really close-by business and residential structures. The street has been closed between Whipple and Hardy. Expect the area to be closed down for a few hours while the Moapa Valley Fire Department put out the fire and investigate the cause of the Fire. The origination of the fire is unknown.

This is a breaking news story and for traffic purposes for those who travel to Moapa Valley and or Moapa Valley residents who work in Mesquite. We will update the story as more news and information is released.
