VVHS Girls Flag Football killed Eldorado 57-0 and will now face SLAM in the State Semifinals on Wednesday, February 16th @ 6:00 pm at VVHS. ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Virgin Valley High School, Mesquite, NV – The Virgin Valley High School Winter Sports Teams start Southern Regional Tournaments start tonight and run through the week for the Boys and Girls Basketball Teams while the Girls Flag Football Team starts State Playoffs.

Boys ‘Dawgs Basketball The Boys Basketball Team starts off as the #2 – Desert League Seed and will face off against #6 seed Pahrump Valley High School. The seeding is a little different as the top 2 teams from each of the two leagues are seeded #1 and #2. So the top 2 seed from the Desert League is #1D Somerset Losee with a league record of 6-0 while the #2D seed Virgin Valley with a league record of 6-2. The top 2 seeds from the Mountain League are #1M Boulder City (8-0) and #2M Sports Leadership & Management (7-2). The rest of the seeding is done according to points accumulated by the teams during the regular season following a point accreditation system. Girls ‘Dawgs Flag Football The Girls Flag Football Team starts off as the #1 seed in the state of Nevada for 3A with an undefeated record of (6-0) for the Southern Region. The Girl ‘Dawgs are #1 in the whole state of Nevada even above bigger schools like Green Valley and Bishop Gorman. Ranking was done by MaxPreps. The seeding is done according to records and points accumulated by the teams during the regular season following a point accreditation system. Virgin Valley High School starts playing tonight, February 14th at 6:00 pm against the #8 seed Eldorado at VVHS Evan Wilson Football Stadium. ‘Dawgs Wrestling The Wrestling Team finished off as 3rd place team in the Southern Regional Tournament. They had 188.5 points behind Boulder City in 2nd with 193 points and Pahrump Valley who walked out as Southern Region Champs with 255 points. The Team qualified eight wrestlers for state. Virgin Valley High School starts Saturday, February 19th at 9:00 am at Boulder City High School. The NIAA 3A State Tournament Schedule is below as brackets have not been released yet:
