The Virgin Valley High School Future Farmers of America program is putting a “sweetness” into the day that couples and married ones look forward to. For Valentine’s Day, the school organization is doing “Golden” candy bouquets to fundraise for the organizational needs including an upcoming competition that could send some local youth to Nationals.

The Rose Gold Candy Bouquets are made as orders are received. The cost is $7 for the “Fun Size” candy bouquets while $13 for full size bouquets of 3 candy bars. Of you want to add 2 more full size candy bars then it’s an additional $3.

Future Farmers of America is described on the FFA website as being “a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.”

The program provides hands on training and opportunities to achieve real-life success.

“FFA is so much more than farming,” stated VVHS FFA Director and Instructor Bailey Kesl. “Everyone just assumes its just about driving tractors and raising crops, but it is more than that.”

Some of the vareers within FFA members include future chemists, veterinarians, government officials, entrepreneurs, bankers, international business leaders, teachers and premier professionals in many career fields.

“It is all about leadership,” added Kesl.

The VVHS FFA Program has seen a resurgence within the last couple of years under the tutelage of Lacey Tom last year and then Bailey Kesl this year. Both Tom and Kesl originate from Moapa Valley and were active in FFA themselves. Tom now heads the FFA program at Moapa Valley High School in Logandale, NV, while Kesl who had Tom as a FFA leader when she was young now heads the local program.

“We definitely have plans to really help the youth at VVHS become true leaders, but we do need the financial help,” said Kesl.

The Rose Gold Candy Bouquets can be ordered by emailing keslb@nv.ccsd.net or calling Bailey Kesl at 702-271- 8009. The best way to order is through the VVHS Instagram account under the Instagram ID @vvhsffa. You can also order through the following google forms link: FFA Rose Gold Candy Bouquets.

All bouquets will be ready to be delivered for school personnel or picked up by end of school on the 14th of February. For non-school customers, arrangements for pick-up or delivery can be made.
