This morning, January 30th, it was confirmed the multiple vehicle accident yesterday, in North Las Vegas involving six vehicles, now has 9 deaths as an aftermath of the speeding and running of a red traffic light by one of the vehicles at the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Commerce Avenue. The driver of that one vehicle that caused this unsurmountable tragedy was amongst those confirmed deceased.
North Las Vegas Police Department spokesman Alexander Cuevas stated a total of 15 people were involved in the vehicle collision. One was transported to the hospital but later died. Another person is in University Medical Center in critical condition. The deceased victims of the multiple vehicle crash include young juveniles to middle-aged adults.
At about 11:00 pm last night, a news press conference was held with NLVPD Administration and Representatives present as well as North Las Vegas Councilwoman Pamela Goynes-Brown.
“Our thoughts and our prayers are with the families who are experiencing a tremendous and unnecessary loss due to a careless and senseless act,” said Goynes-Brown.
NLVPD spokesman Cuevas said “a maroon Dodge Challenger was heading north on Commerce approaching Cheyenne at a high speed and ran a red light. The Dodge hit multiple vehicles.”
He also reported the Challenger had an occupant who also died in the incident. The reported cars involved included a white Mercedes Benz SUV, a white Ford Fusion, a white Toyota Sienna, a white Hyundai Tucson, and a tan Chevrolet Malibu. He ended the report with the fact that the city of NLV has not seen a mass casualty traffic collision like this one before and gave a plea to the public.
“Please make this a safer community by slowing down. Pay attention to speed limits.”
The identities of the deceased have not been released at the present time.

At about 3:00 pm today, January 29, 2022, police were called to the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Commerce Avenue with reports of multiple vehicles involved in an accident. It was discovered that six vehicles were involved in the accident and five people were killed.
The deceased include one juvenile and on up to middle-aged adults. The identities were not released and will be released after the Coroner contacts families and identify the deceased. The person responsible for the accident is amongst those who are deceased and preliminary investigation has deducted that speed and running through a red light is the source of the fatal accident.
