On Friday, January 21, 2022, at Las Vegas Athletic Club at the intersection of Maryland Parkway and Karen Avenue. The witnesses reported hearing two gun shots which resulted in one person taken to the hospital. Witnesses recalled the gunshots came from a main restroom within the LVAC, according to reports from the Review Journal.

The police were notified at about 11:29 am and reported to the incident not releasing the location of the shooting at first. Friday night, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Lieutenant Justin Byers relayed the facts of the shooting. One person was shot in the leg and transported to a hospital with “non-life threatening injuries.”

LVMPD detectives are investigating the shooting and the investigation is still pending. The gym reopened approximately 2:00 pm.
