Mesquite, NV-
About 90 youth enlisted and showed up to the fist VV-ettes Mini-Drills practice on , January 19, Wednesday night at the Virgin Valley High School Student Center. The practice was to get the youth ready to perform on Saturday during the halftime of the Boy’s Basketball Game that starts at 10:30 am. The VV-ettes Mini-Drills is one of the biggest fundraisers for the VVVHS Dance Team.
“This is the most we have seen come and be part of the Mini-Drills,” stated VV-ettes Head Coach Erica Garrett. “This is so exciting!”
The fundraiser involves youth ages 3-8th graders participating in learning a dance routine where they will perform for the community. Both girls and boys are welcome to participate. The money raised is used for costuming, travel needs, and other necessities for the Virgin Valley VV-ettes.
The youth practiced every night on Wednesday through Friday and will be in the spotlight on Saturday.
The VVHS Girls and Boys Basketball will be playing against Somerset Academy Losee. Both the girl ‘Dawgs and the Lions have a record of 8 wins and 5 losses overall. The Boys on the other hand are 10-5 with the Losee Lions with only one loss which was against SLAM who the Boy ‘Dawgs beat on the 8th of January in Overtime.
“We really look forward to the Mini-Drills and we invite all of the community to come and cheer on the youth of our community,” said Coach Garrett. “We hope to see you all there!”
