Las Vegas, NV –

A little before 7:30 pm on Friday, January 7th, United States President arrived in Las Vegas at the newly named airport. He is here for the funeral of former Nevada Senator Harry Reid who passed away on December 28, 2021, due to pancreatic cancer at the age of 82. The funeral is scheduled for Saturday starting at 11:00 am and will be live-streamed online. The funeral will be held at the Smith Center for Performing Arts, located at 361 Symphony Park Avenue, right next to the Children’s Discovery Museum and Reynolds Hall.

The funeral has resulted in road closures in Las Vegas for the funeral. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police has released the following information on the road closures:

Saturday, Between 9 am & 11 am: I-15 from Spring Mountain Road to the Spaghetti Bowl.

Saturday, Between noon & 3 pm: I-15 from the Spaghetti Bowl to I-215, on I-215 to the airport connector, and Russell Road by Harry Reid International Airport.

The police advised if you are impacted by these road closures, to take alternate routes.

Also planned to be in attendance will be former US President Barrack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Harry Reid was the longest-serving State Senator in Nevada History. He leaves behind his wife, Landra, as well as five children.
