Salt Lake City, UT –
The Truu Med CEO, Ramone Marcio Martinez, 39, was arrested on December 29, 2021, for charges of Kidnapping and Assault after a short investigation that led police to Martinez’s home in the area of 500 S and 1400 W. Martinez allegedly kidnapped and held a woman captive for weeks in his home where he assaulted her multiple times. He was charged with aggravated kidnapping, five counts of aggravated assault charges, and one account of simple assault.
The police responding to his home resulted from a single text sent by the captive woman to a friend. The woman was able to get the text off reporting herself being held captive and the friend immediately contacted the police.
“The victim had texted him begging for help and that she was scared for her life,” according to a police booking affidavit that was recovered by ABC4 in Utah.
According to the booking report and police reports, the victim (not identified) made horrific details of Martinez beating her, holding her at knifepoint and gunpoint, using a belt to beat her, carving a “6” in her hand, and strangulation to the point of urination. The “6” carved into her hand was a representation of Martinez’s 6-month deadline he gave the victim to love him or be killed.
Martinez answered his door in a hoodie with a handgun in the front pocket which the police could identify the shape as a handgun, so police were able to get Martinez to surrender without any incident. According to the affidavit, the victim was located within Martinez’s home with bruised eyes, injured ribs, more injuries, and was rushed to the hospital. Martinez was read his Miranda rights, taken into custody, taken to the hospital, and treated for high blood pressure before being transported and booked in to the Salt Lake County Jail.
Later that day, Martinez confessed to strangling the victim and also plans to move the victim to his home in Arizona. The arresting officer made a recommendation of no bail as Martinez “brags” about being a millionaire and having the financial capability and means to flee the area. Martinez is being held without bail. A protective order was granted against him on Friday.
