The existence of God is probably the most important topic or issue facing this crazy mixed-up world we live in.

Now, that’s a heck of a statement considering all the horrific acts of terrorism we’re seeing, all the wars that are either happening or on the verge of happening, the increase of deadly diseases rampaging across the globe, and the potential collapse of world economies.

But these all pale in comparison to humanity’s greatest need, and that is, its search and need for God. This is infinity more important than everything else.

The writer of Hebrews says that not only does God exist, but He also rewards those who diligently seek Him by faith.

“Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

Therefore, it’s foolish to say there is no God. That was the assessment of King David. He said, “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” (Psalm 14:1)

A fool is someone who literally doesn’t think. They say and do things giving little thought if any to the outcome, and this is especially true when it comes to their eternal existence. They have bought into the lie that what they believe, who they believe in, and their actions have no eternal consequences.

This is why seeking after God is the most important issue facing humanity today, because it deals with the eternity of the soul and spirit; where everything else deals with humanity’s present condition, which is like a vapor and soon perishes.

David goes on to say, “The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God.” (Psalm 14:2)

But the outcome is as we expect. He says, “They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, No, not one.” (Psalm 14:3)

To seek God is humanity’s greatest and most important need today, which is why our responsibility, which is to go and make disciples, teaching them to obey Jesus commands is so important (Matthew 28:19-20).

Belief in God is therefore humanity’s greatest need.

      1. I so appreciate these weekly thoughts of encouragement or admonishment depending on where I am in my walk with Him!

  1. Thank you Pastor Lee for presenting one of the greatest choices we must make in our lifetime!
“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.””
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭24:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

    1. Ed,

Thanks for the Scripture verse. Right on.

Take care my friend and give my love to Kimberly.

      Dennis

  2. As always, ….very well written and filled with truth for all. The choice of scriptures to explain and give proof to your posting is absolutely spot on. We so much need to refocus … reboot placing all of our heart upon the one true God … Abba is in control and the world today is a cancer of Satan to draw our attention away from God. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT POSTING

    1. Moose,

It is my prayer that we continue to seek Him as believers and as a church, especially as we see the days getting shorter.

      Take care and God bless

  3. Amen! The most important message we need to be getting out to others in the midst of what’s going on around us currently in this nation and the world is not whether to mask or not to mask, to vaccinate or not to vaccinate, etc., but rather the gospel message. Even within the church we can be so caught up in arguments like that amongst ourselves, that we can lose focus on the purpose of the church as a whole and that is to proclaim the gospel to the lost. This was at the heart of Jesus’ prayer in John 17. Note verses 20-21, ” “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” Their need for their souls to be saved is far more important than any other need and is the only thing that has eternal ramifications. That is the most important decision they will ever make. “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10)

    1. Debbie, Absolutely! We need to get back to the basics and what is most important and stop focusing more about what is going on in our world and politics, and start focusing more upon the Lord and His grace and mercy, and for His kingdom of come, HIs will to be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Thanks for the reply. – Dennis

  4. Amen! We need G-D to come and heal our hearts, souls, minds, and land. We need to return to G-D and put Him first in our nation again.

    1. Tami,

We definitely need the Lord to heal us, body, soul, and spirit, and to heal our nation and brings us back to Him and His word.

      Thanks,

      Dennis

    1. Arlene, those are some of my favorites. I’d love to tell you why. Have a great rest of your day. God bless
